by | May 29, 2023

AERCs Therapy has an office for mental health counselors in Mississauga. AERCs Therapy Mississauga is home to a therapeutic collective which is a team of certified Canadian social workers and specialized therapeutic counsellors, led by psychotherapist Gloria Segovia.

The first week of May 2023 was Mental Health Week, and the City of Mississauga put out messaging to remind residents to take care of themselves and offered a list of metal health resources including counselors. Next year, AERCs Therapy Mississauga will be indexed. The City is very good at connecting people to programs and services that promote their health and well-being. AERCs Mississauga along with the Region of Peel and community partners like the CMHA and Credit Valley Conservation (CVC) offer access to many resources with an eye on preserving the emotional and mental health of residents.

Counselors at AERCs Therapy have a mandate to assist the people of Ontario with their mental health needs. AERCs offers couples therapy, group therapy, and family and individual counselling in-person at our new Mississauga office. The organization has now offices in Mississauga, as well as in Toronto, and Orangeville.

It is estimated that mental health conditions affect one in five Canadians each year. Therapy helps all people face and understand these challenges. AERCs specializes in relationship problems, addiction problems, anger issues, depression and anxiety, spiritual crises, stress management, self-worth and self-esteem.

Therapists at AERCs use many different treatment modalities. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is used to address how thoughts and words can influence behavior. CBT is a common form of therapy for individuals as well as couples. Developed over the course of the last century, it has been widely adopted by many practitioners in the mental health industry. CBT is backed by extensive research and countless positive outcomes. Behavioral therapy is an approach that studies learning and its role in how people develop both normal and abnormal behaviors. Humanistic therapy focuses on helping individuals make the right choices, which in turn helps them reach their fullest level of functionality or potential. Integrative or Holistic therapy blends elements from the cognitive, behavioral and humanistic approaches. It is considered alternative or complementary therapy. AERCs’ therapists customize their treatment plans based on individual client needs.
