Dr. Stephanie A. Hayes, Ph.D., C. Psych is a registered School & Clinical Psychologist with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. Stephanie can provide individual psychotherapy, group interventions, consultation, comprehensive psychological assessments, clinical trainings, and workshops.

Dr. Stephanie A. Hayes works primarily with children and youth (ages 6 to 18) but is also available to work with adults (under supervision). Already in her career she has addressed a wide range of presenting concerns including stress, mood and anxiety, emotional dysregulation, anger, trauma, attachment difficulties, poor self-image or self-esteem, self-harm and suicidality, interpersonal relationship difficulties (e.g., peer and/or family conflict), adjustment issues, sexuality, and has helped with issues surrounding gender diversity. She has also worked with various clinical populations including mood and anxiety disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Attention-Deficit / Hyperactivity Disorder, learning disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Intellectual Disability, and personality disorders and she has attended many in-person training sessions, conferences, or workshops.

Stephanie is a strong believer in the power of building positive relationships and making lifelong connections. She describes her therapeutic approach as evidence-based and eclectic. She draw from various modalities including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Brief Narrative Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Art Therapy, etc. Primarily, she believes good therapy is client-centered, strengths-based, and relationship-oriented.

Dr. Stephanie A. Hayes received her Masters from Laurentian University, Applied Psychology in 2012, and a PhD from the University of Alberta, School and Clinical Child Psychology in 2018. Following a post-doctoral internship at a not-for-profit community mental health agency, she registered with the College of Psychologists in January 2021, and is currently under supervision to expand her practice to include adults (Clinical Psychology).

Stephanie also engages in other activities related to teaching, research, program development and evaluation. She is currently collaborating with Indigenous partners to co-develop and pilot a new approach to Autism assessment and treatment planning that will bridge Indigenous perspectives with Western approaches. She has spoken at many professional conferences internationally, and her articles published in peer-reviewed journals have been widely cited. She has received many distinctions, including the Governor General�s Gold Medal for her academic work.
